Why TAC

The Aquaculture & Blue Economy Consortium (TAC) is an integrated aquaculture and blue economy ecosystem builder working to transform fish production into a structured, investable and inclusive sector.

TAC brings together specialised enterprises, farmer networks, technical expertise, digital systems and strategic partnerships to support the full aquaculture value chain. Our work connects quality fingerlings, feed systems, farmer training, production support, processing, value addition, market access, traceability and investment readiness.

We do not approach aquaculture as one farm, one project or one intervention. We build the system around aquaculture so that farmers can produce better, enterprises can grow stronger, partners can coordinate more effectively and investors can engage with a clearer, more organised value chain.

Through our operating companies and partnerships, TAC addresses the critical bottlenecks that limit aquaculture growth, from input access and technical capacity to post-harvest losses, market linkages and financing readiness.

This is how TAC strengthens food security, improves farmer livelihoods, reduces sector risk and supports sustainable blue economy growth across Kenya and the wider East African region.

Mission, Vision & What Guides Us

Transforming Aquaculture and Food Systems, Unlocking the Blue Economy

Mission

To build coordinated, sustainable and commercially viable aquaculture systems that improve food security, strengthen farmer livelihoods and unlock inclusive blue economy growth.

Vision

To become a leading aquaculture ecosystem platform in Africa, connecting production, markets, technology, partnerships and investment to transform aquatic food systems at scale.

What Guides Us

Systems Thinking

We address aquaculture as a connected value chain, not as isolated activities.

Sustainability

We support solutions that protect resources, reduce waste and create long-term value.

Innovation

We use practical technology, data and enterprise-led models to solve real sector challenges.

Collaboration

We work with farmers, enterprises, institutions, investors and partners to strengthen the ecosystem around aquaculture.

Impact

We focus on measurable outcomes that improve livelihoods, food systems, market access and investment readiness.
