Transforming Aquaculture and Food Systems, Unlocking the Blue Economy
As part of our commitment to women empowerment, we prioritize the direct employment of women and youth in various roles related to omena fishing, cleaning, and processing. We go beyond by ensuring that our employees receive wages that surpass the average in the industry, providing economic stability and improving their livelihoods. Moreover, we have actively engaged the local youth by involving them in the construction of our cages, fostering economic empowerment and skill development within the community.
Recognizing the importance of creating a conducive work environment, we have established a safe space for the children of our workers. Currently, efforts are underway to enhance this facility by furnishing it, incorporating vibrant paintings, and acquiring toys to enrich our daycare program. We understand that supporting working parents, especially lactating mothers, is crucial for their well-being and the overall welfare of their families. By providing a safe and nurturing environment for their children, we directly contribute to preventing various forms of exploitation.
In line with our commitment to comprehensive women empowerment, we have implemented a program focused on Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR). This initiative covers several critical aspects, including the training of trainers, combating alcoholism among the youth, addressing unwanted pregnancies, and raising awareness about HIV/AIDS. By addressing these crucial topics, we aim to empower individuals with knowledge, skills, and resources to make informed decisions about their sexual and reproductive health. This program not only supports the well-being of our employees but also contributes to building a healthier and more resilient community.
